Village Art in Casola Spring Festival

For more than a century 3 groups of villagers have been competing in Casola Valsenio to win an ambitious recognition: the most attractive and interesting allegorical creation with living statues posing on artistic plaster architectures. A day and a night parade transform via Roma in a magic world made of fantasy, beauty and philosophy. All generations take part to the event.

Enjoy a few shots and let us know your opinion!

Castiglioncello ruins

On 26th December Cor, Bacio, Spotty and I visited the ancient ruins of Castiglioncello in the Santerno Valley, just half an hour from us. A charming little hamlet that made us dream. Would it be in Tuscany – actually it is! – but closer to Florence or Siena, it would now be totally renovated with a Spa and a 4 star accomodation, for sure! Fortunately it is not, but the need to save it from a progressive natural decline is there!

We took some shots to make you dream too!

La Casa-torre, a new apartment

Outside (3)After eight years, we are ready to offer a new holiday apartment in our mansion: La Casa-torre. By the moment it will host max. 3 guests, but Cornelis is working to complete a second huge bedroom that will host up to 4 persons. We have been living in this part of the house, since we moved from La Casetta in 2009. So you will rent more than just a holiday house.

kitchen 1In summer time guests will use our huge kitchen, including all facilities like a 90 cm electric oven, a dish washer, a large fridge/freezer and a spacious granite blade. Those who love cooking,  expecially Italian food, could find it quite attractive. My mother Adele is a specialist of Emilia Romagna homemade pasta and will be happy to show and teach you how to make it. A large private terrace in front of the apartment is ideal for outdoor lunches and dinners.

The front door is an independent entrance to the apartment, as we live in the tower and we have access to it from the backside of the house. You are welcome from May 2015!

A new website!

Time to think about 2015!

After five years, lots of restoration and a lovely experience with our guests, here is our new website, a dynamic blog, that will help us to stay in contact and update you about Porcaticcio di Sopra and the surroundings.  We also like to know your opinion. That will be of great help to improve.

Thank you! Grazie!
